The same tile collection indoors and outdoors, for a uniform surface that withstands the most extreme weather conditions.
Until a few years ago, floor tiles were different shapes and colours in every room of the home, and the contrast with terraces and balconies was even greater. Nowadays, in response to the need to make spaces at least look larger, the tendency is to use the same material, colour and shape. This is possible in the case of porcelain stoneware because many tile collections are produced in two versions: indoor, with smooth surface, and outdoor due2, with anti-slip surface.
Visual continuity between flooring and paving enables maintenance of the same style, but considerations of strength and safety must not be overlooked. In fact, it is important that due2 porcelain stoneware tiles are frostproof, resistant to thermal shocks and abrasion and, as already mentioned, anti-slip. Outdoor tiles may have normal thickness of 8.5 mm, or be extra-thick, 20 mm in the due2 range, for even greater strength. In this case they can also be installed in raised or floating paving systems, mounted on special pedestals instead of glued to the screed. There is no change in appearance if the texture (marble, stone or wood) is the same both indoors and outdoors.
