DEL CONCA GROUP EMPLOYEES VISIT THE CASA DI MARCO PARK

An area of 9,500 m2 dotted with playground and exercise zones with a wealth of inclusive play equipment, paved pathways through the park, majestic trees, a mass of flowers and a spectacular view of the Adriatic Sea.

This is the Casa Marco Simoncelli Park. Officially opened on 23 April in the presence of local dignitaries and the many supporters of the Montetauro Community, the Casa Marco Simoncelli Park is a genuine outdoor gym, free from architectural barriers, created with contributions from all the Del Conca Group stakeholders.

This space provides an opportunity for outdoor physical exercise related to aspects of disability, completing the services offered by the “Casa di Marco” rehabilitation centre, a facility that welcomes young men and women with severe disabilities day and night, built by the Marco Simoncelli Foundation and managed by the Montetauro Community.

The Del Conca Group decided to use the resources originally intended for its 2021 Christmas gifts, and then also those from Christmas 2022, to fund the completion of the entire Park, which also includes the Barrier-Free Gym. On 13 May this year, the Group’s Management invited the employees of the three plants, at San Clemente, Savignano sul Panaro and Faetano, to an exclusive event, to enable them all to see for themselves the splendid project completed with the aid of a small sacrifice in the part of all stakeholders.

It was an inspiring experience for the participants. Once they had entered the Park, the meeting with the Casa’s residents proved unforgettable, clearly showing that the people in charge of the Montetauro Community have dedicated their lives to providing loving care to people often rejected at birth or abandoned in critical conditions in unsuitable health facilities.

The aim of the Park Project, funded by the Del Conca Group, was to offer people with serious disabilities the opportunity for outdoor leisure and aid their physical and mental wellbeing.
