“San Marino. A free, courageous land. Home to passionate, hard-working people. It was here, sixty years ago, that the story of Ceramica Faetano began.”
This is the opening of the short film made to mark the 60th anniversary of Ceramica Faetano and it is Stefania Leardini Mularoni, President of the Fondazione Cino Mularoni, who takes us by the hand and guides us, together with an off-camera narrator, on this fascinating journey.
“A long business adventure,” the voice-over continues, “closely intertwined with the story of a large family of men and women who worked and lived together to achieve a common dream. The passion and enthusiasm they all shared are the foundation of this amazing story. Technical expertise and manual skills generated iconic products, such as the legendary FILO project, produced in the Seventies, a time of vibrant creativity.
Or the partnerships with famous artists and designers. A change in approach that revolutionised the role of ceramics, from functional item to medium for expression.
The far-sightedness and courage always to take on new challenges. The arrival in the United States and the founding of the company in Tennessee. And all the fundamental ingredients for business success: courage, determination, self-sacrifice, teamwork and a touch of recklessness, to achieve goals beyond all imagining. In the knowledge that every success is just a new starting point. And that staying one step ahead demands constant investment in research and development. The world opens out and at the same time becomes more complicated, so our project grows in size and complexity.”
The film ends with images of the latest investment made at the Savignano sul Panaro plant and a tribute to the human resources who have contributed to the company’s growth in these sixty years.
“New pages in the story of technology and innovation are written every year, but what matters most is the story of the men and women who share this amazing experience.”
